The empowerment of youth through YUBER increases civic engagement amongst youth in that they have a stronger sense of belonging to society and propels them to action; to care and be involved in social and environmental issues. Heightened self awareness and purpose in life which is a result of empowerment also nurtures intergenerational equity and provides an equal voice to youth in the society.

From an economic standpoint, the youth will eventually shape the future of a country. In South East Asia, where youth makes up almost 50% of the society, therefore increasing their future role and contribution towards nation building is of even higher critical importance.
